(I'd upload an image, but I'm on the wrong machine. Maybe later.)

Counting, it's about 49 metres of shelf space. Which is not that much gain, but as I have deliberatly limited shelves deep enough for boxes and folders, a lot of these are going to stay in the cellar (which is not just large, but also dry, fortunately.)

It's a good thing that the carpenter dicouraged me from further optimasation for height (all those old paperbacks only need 20 cm shelf height, so I could put in three for two), because that would have looked a lot less tidy. And as the room should also act as guest room and home office, and a place to dry the washing and to do my daily exercises, the room must be strongly discouraged from untidiness. :->

I have to note that among my friends and relatives, I might be among those with the least amount of books -- partly because I have the highest resistance to "used books for free!", and partly because I rarely keep books that I found neither enjoyable nor useful. (I once had a boss who regularly moved into a larger flat when the previous one would not hold their books anymore. I try to avoid that.)
