Last weekend recap

Saturday I went shopping for winter clothes, as it's been five years, not counting the "winter" clothes bought for a winter in California. I had planned on getting a light wool pullover and a cardigan, and had expected it to be expensive because only stores in the upper price range seem to belive that women would want to wear anything other than cotton and synthetics.
It went well, because I really found what I was looking for, and was a desaster because I spent five times as much money as I had planned (but also bought three times as much).
Plus, I had been using public transport (while I hate to be observed by video cameras [or just anything and anyone], I couldn't wear motorbiking gear when shopping for clothes, and parking space on a Saturday is a gamble), so I had to walk some. And because I was planning on trying on stuff, I was wearing my new shoes. Bad idea. I'm still limping today -- I didn't even get blisters, just a raw spot on my heel the size of an Euro coin. Those shoes have to go to the shoemaker for softening.
Well, at least I'm done with it for the next few years. I hope.
Sunday, N___ dropped by for a short visit where we decided how to best get his character back into an ongoing RPG campaign, and then I___ showed up with a DVD of "Learners" which was sweet and kind of funny but borderline with regard to my social phobia. After she had gone I read some old (1998) melodramatic Doctor Who fanfic which strangely contrasted newer (2007) melodramatic fanfic with a very simliar setup and a similar character constellation, so I ended up reading three fics in parallel for comparision, and went to bed way too late.
Still haven't decided what to do with the cat. Anyway, three weeks of vacation coming up!
