Thursday evening's explosion and fire in a local bike shop was, they found out, not caused by an e-bike's battery exploding, but by faulty plugs or wiring.
The heat is gone, the damp is here to stay. I nearly fainted at the doctor's today, though they took only about half a cup of blood.
Still haven't seen the new Harry Potter movie. Haven't won the lottery, either.
Yesterday I went to the gym for the first time in two months (long hiatus caused by getting my wisdom teeth extracted with medium ouch and much inconvenience). Goodness, I'm weak. And unflexible. And hurting all over today. Am still quite content to be back on the wagon.
I made cheese rolls again. This time I warmed the flour (mostly whole grain wheat, some dark wheat, some powder for instant mashed potatos) in the oven before putting in dry yeast, water (about 280 ml on 500 g flour), 6 tablespoons of olive oil, one tablespoon of sea salt and half a teaspoon of caraway. Very nice texture, a joy to handle. Mixed and kneaded the whole thing. Put it in the oven at about 35°C to raise, covered with a cloth so it would not dry out. After 50 minutes it has nicely doubled in size. Kneaded in two handful of chopped herbs (pineapple sage, oregano and thyme), formed small balls with a cube of cheese in the middle, rolled them in flour, remembered to cut them in the middle (seemed to have helped, only 6 of 16 lost their cheese in baking -- next time I'll try something different again), let them raise for 15 more minutes on top of the oven while the oven was heating up to 180°C. Baked for maybe half an hour.
