Things done.
Sep. 17th, 2018 01:10 pmI had one day each of comp time the last two weeks and managed to whittle down my ToDo-List to about half its length. And read two doorstoppers.
If I had a day off every week, I could take over the world. Or, maybe, get enough sleep.
- hosted a kaffeeklatsch with traditional plum cake, chocolate tarte and sherry cherry cake
- saw a movie ("BlackkKlansman"), with flederkatz and Ceridwen. Went to the pub for banana pizza before.
- got glasses fitted for working at the computer
- went to the doc for my shoulder, had checked for systemic problems (none), and got a reference to an orthopaedist
- trained Tullamore the Tabby to let me brush his fur (I haz shiny tabby now!)
- improved my backstroke enough to consistently manage 50 metres without getting lost to the left, or right, or bottom
- had a quite satisfying ensemble practise, where I mostly sang first sopraono and managed just fine (but Dunning-Kruger still feeds the panic hamster)
- bought a smartphone and managed (with flederkatz' help) to get it running
- finally managed to get a data privacy statement written and uploaded for my other blog
- after two years found a carpenter willing to look at my old dinner table and agreeing that he would fix it (in October)
- got the duvet cleaned (while the nights were still mild)
- annoyed the leather worker enough to have him finally fix two bags I brought there in April. It took him 6 minutes. I was watching.
- had the craftsperson come over (after six months) and fix the fly door in the bedroom
- got a mirror for the hall, so I do not have to walk over to Ceridcen so check if my dress is too short or the shoes do not match
- got rid of 20 books I have picked up only for dusting or moving in the last 20 years
- finished Anthony Ryan's "Draco Memoriam" triology (will probably read again)
- got rid of a very expensive insurance that I do not really need anymore (still scared. Still looking for a name for my panic hamster)
- tracked some minor financial stuff and got it back on track. ("Oh. I see that no one has paid their fees this month. Seems our automated system is down. Thank you for alerting me to this.")
- found that the manufacturer of my much-beloved coffee maker is insolvent and their successor answers the phone but has no idea how to fix a coffee maker, nor do they know who might have one, nor are they the least bit bothered by their ignorance. :-(
- found out where to send the money for the music workshop in November, and did send it
