More on vaccination

If getting the vaccination was my birthday present this year, the aftermath was like getting home-brewed mead, and getting one hell of a hangover after the guests had left.
In case of the vaccination, I was perfectly fine until, say, half past ten in the evening. Then I started feeling tired and cold and looked forward to finishing what I was doing and going to bed.
I had a hot spice tea which made me queasy, I got colder and colder, and at half past eleven I was shaking so hard that I could not brush my teeth, and the air was so cold that it hurt to touch. I stumbled into bed with a hot water bottle, two heated grain cushions, a nightcap and a scarf (and a snoring cat, of course) took my temperature, and it was a little higher than usual at that time of night.
Two hours later I woke because I felt hot, and my heart was doing some heavy industrial drums solo. Temperature had risen to more than 38°C, which is hell of a lot for me. Also, my head hurt a bit.
I read a while, then fell asleep again. Woke twice more, each time feeling a little better, and at 10 a.m. I got up because I was hungry and needed coffee and a shower very badly. I still felt bit groggy the rest of the day and skipped my sport program. Good thing I had taken the day off.
All in all, that's not a strong reaction as things are expected to go, but for me it is. I think my strongest reaction to a vaccination until now was, "huh, I wonder why my shoulder is sore... oh, of course."
So, at least I know that my immune system took notice!

That does sound unpleasant, even if it wasn't a truly bad reaction - but I'm glad you felt better in the morning!

Date: 2021-03-03 08:19 am (UTC)Yesterday I was perfectly fine again. And very hungry.
Now I'm strinking days off the calender. At, that's March 15th, I'll expect to be reasonably well protected. Maybe I'll go to the garden center then and buy earth and plants for my balcony. As none of my friends has got the vaccination yet, and I doubt that the fitness places, swimming pools, boulder halls or bookshops will be open by then, anything wilder is right out. But it's a start.

Date: 2021-03-03 06:14 pm (UTC)And yeah, that's definitely a start. I wish we could all get vaccinated much faster, but it's great to see some people I know actually get it.

Date: 2021-03-03 08:23 am (UTC)And I had no reaction at all, which was something of a disappointment.
Like not getting a notice of receipt when you expect one? ;-)
