Last day of vacation

Where did the time go?
And why didn't I get anything done?
And didn't even get enough sleep?
The big questions of existence...
OK, so I didn't GM on Monday. The rogue's player was too tired, the scout's player's car had broken down, and the barbarian's player was on vacation in Sumatra.
This might have worked well as they were busy splitting the group anyway: The rogue and the scout, with their fast horses, would try to catch one of the bad guys who had fled, the paladin planned to go to town to talk with a lawyer (and could have taken the mage and the healer with them, so all the active group would be in one place), and the barbarian could have stayed to observe the going ons on the farm.
But as I got the characters into a tight spot the last two sessions and now gently needed to pry them out of it, I really needed to know if and how (= dead or alive) the scout and the rogue would catch the fugitive. If they didn't, I'd have to give then other options to solve the plot.
So we just chatted and ate cake.
Earlier on Monday I had breakfast with flederkatz, and after that went to the pool, so all in all it was a nice day.
On Tuesday I hung out with flederkatz again (she was on sick leave that week), we watched the last ep (I guess? so far?) of "The Book of Boba Fett" and the first ep of "Andor". I love the set and object designs to pieces, the action is solidly professional, and the characters and acting are good enough, but OMG, the pacing. Could it be any slower? It reminds me of a bad writing habit I finally go rid of: Start with a bang and then spend several chapters meticulously telling the backstory, which results in a story with as much forward drive as a tortoise stampede in peanut butter.
Wednesday: Another session with the personal trainer, went well. Choir practice in the evening. Went OK. One of the choir had written filk and I dreaded that a bit, because sometimes it's very bad, but that one was quite good.
Thursday the other choir practiced. I'm still not solid on the high notes, half the time I can do them easily, half of the time not, and never loud. That needs to get better.
Friday, I went to the pool again. 400 metres swimming. Arm still not complaining.
In the evening, Ceridwen and I had invited R--- to dinner and cocktails for her birthday. Unfortunately our favourite cocktail bar had closed during Corona and not re-opened, so we went to another place, which was fine. Nice seating in a cobblestoned and car-less public space surrounded by partially-18th-century buildings, good food, good drink, and pre-pandemic prices.
Saturday, another cancelled role playing game (WoD), with flederkatz as the GM. Two of the three players felt not up to it, so, again: breakfast and watching series, this time S1 E1+2 of "The Witcher". I do not have a TV nor a DVD player/drive (has become too complicated to be worth it), and both flederkatz and I are suffering from having the attention span of an overripe grapefruit, so we watch TV instead of writing stories together. Which is not great, but better than not even doing that.
And today (Sunday) I went to the boulder gym with F--- and was very unhappy with myself for being incompetent and losing my nerve at heights of 1.3 meters. :sigh:
Anyway. Tully the Tabby is cute, and loves the wet towel I spread on the balcony in hot weather. I hope he does not get rheumatism in his old age!
Back to work tomorrow. I am lacking enthusiasm.
ETA 2023-07-11: some re-writing.
