Ouch.

Monday I had an appointment at the dentist (again).

This time she decided that it was high time to get out the crumbling wisdom tooth. I had felt that way (literally) for about a year, but was, for obvious reasons, less than enthusiastic about it. My obvious reasons were completely right: it was a bloody (again, literally) mess. The tooth had four roots, one of them had gotten hold of the bone, and it was too rotten to grip with the pliers, so she had to carve a handle into the more solid part to get hold of it. Plus, choking on blood when you do not dare to move = not fun.

So, the good part about all this is that I could stay home from work for two days. The bad part is, well, it hurts like hell, I look like three days after the full moon, only redder, I'm running a slight fever, I can't put my contact lenses in as my right eye is swollen half-shut, and as eating is slow, painful and difficult I'm permanently hungry. I've also been too miserable to write.

And tomorrow I have to go to work again, and I do not like the idea of being away from my cooling packs or trying to get anything useful done without my contact lenses. Or having to talk. Also, still in too much pain to go to bed -- waiting for the meds to kick in.
